MizzKazza's travels

Jungles, temples and local history

Sarawak, October 2016 (Semenggoh, Annah Rais)

Day trip with James Chee began at Semenggoh where we watched the orangutans in their semi-wild environment. As it wasn’t the fruiting season quite a few of them arrived at the viewing area to partake of a free breakfast. The next stop was the Annah Rais Bidayuh longhouse. The most interesting parts were the head house ( with a cage full of two-century old human skulls) and some wall paintings by the Ernest Zacharavic (the Lithuanian version of Banksy). We ended the day by kayaking down an 11km stretch of river. It was immensely peaceful as there was not another soul to be seen apart from our group.

My driver/guide for the day was James Chee. Email: saratour68@yahoo.com
